Brad Smith: A Remarkable Story of Courage
One of our own members and one of our most memorable programs is back. The inspiring story of Brad Smith is something you do not want to miss. Guests are always welcome and encouraged. Our business meeting at 7:00 pm will be followed by a refreshment break and Brad's presentation. We hope to see you there.
Brad is a longtime member of the EAA. He began taking flying lessons at 15 and already had his pilot license before he joined the Navy in 1961. During the Vietnam war, Brad flew off the aircraft carriers USS Roosevelt, America and Enterprise. Brad began to fly combat missions in the A-4 Seahawk in November 1965. He was forced to eject over North Vietnam while flying his 77th combat mission. The North Vietnamese captured him and he was held as a prisoner of war (POW) for 2,516 days until his release during Operation Homecoming on February 12, 1973.
Come learn about his fascinating story of survival and extensive aviation experience at our next meeting
