3/26/2008 President Martin Sobel opened the meeting at 7:40pm with the 'Pledge to the Flag'. 24 members and guests were present. Treasurer's Report: Treasurer Brad Smith reported a balance of $40.055.00 as of 3/26/08. Secretary's Report: The minutes of the February meeting were accepted as printed on the chapter website. Young Eagles: Chip Miller said the last event was a 'real quick' two hours due to bad weather. Three aircraft and three pilots flew 8 kids. Members and guests were introduced and builders told how their projects were doing. Earle Swan is putting wheel pants on his RV-8. Rob Brooke is making progress on his Tigermoth. Rich Moray has just started a Pientenpol, and will probably put a Corvair engine in it. Jerry Greenberg is hoping to buy a RV-12 April 12th. Vance Noles started flying his RV-7A on March 1st. Next month's Young Eagle event will coincide with a Big Brother breakfast taking place from 7:30am-11:30am. A break was taken for refreshments and the 50/50 drawing. The evening program was a film about Beryl Markham, a female aviation pioneer in Kenya. She was the first female bush pilot in Africa and the first woman pilot to cross the Atlantic from east to west. She also wrote the award winning book ' West with the Night'.
