2/27/2008 President Martin Sobel opened the meeting at 7:36pm with the 'Pledge to the Flag'. 23 members and guests were present. Martin presented 2007 EAA Chapter service awards to last year's officers, young eagle coordinators and flight advisor. Members and guests were introduced along with builder reports. Martin Sobel is working on the tail of his RV-8. Brad Smith has been installing the plumbing and electrical for his RV-6A, and is about to start on the panel. Vance Noles has finished his RV-7A. It was announced the week before Sun 'n Fun will be Benson Days at Wachulla Airport. Treasurer's Report: Treasurer Brad Smith reported a balance of $40, 173.88 as of 1/27/2008. Secretary's Report: Printed copies were made available to the group. Young Eagles: The January Young Eagles event flew 20 kids. Chip Miller reported plenty of planes and pilots were available. It was also decided future events would end at 1:00pm. A break for refreshments was followed by a 50/50 drawing. Dick Pickett presented the group with an entertaining slide presentation of thirteen trips to the Canadian arctic by air. The trips were taken from the 1950's to the 1970's, first in a Navion and later a pair of Republic SeaBees. Martin closed the meeting at 9:00pm. Respectfully submitted, Rolf Bostrom, Secretary. |
