February Meeting
The next meeting will be held Wednesday, February 28th at 7:30 PM in McElmurry Hall.
Martin Sobel will be presenting a program about his involvement in tracking the migration of Whooping Cranes.
 
.Minutes of the January Meeting
Vice-President Chip Miller opened the meeting at 7:39pm with the 'Pledge to the Flag'. 25 members and guests were present. Chip reminded the group that chapter dues need to be paid for 2007. An introduction of members and guests followed.
 
Builder Reports: Siggy Feurersanger reports he now has 25 hours flying his Zodiac. Earle Swan is starting on the canopy of his RV-8. Vance Noles has his RV-7A about ready to go to the airport, and Jim Ellis is flight testing his RV-9A. Brad Smith has bought extra fuel tanks for his RV-7A. Rob Brooke is working on a Suzuki 1.3 liter engine for his Tiger Moth. Dick Wilke's RANS S6S is being flight-tested. Dick recently wrote a recently published article in the Pilot Mall magazine. Mike Weed has finished the windscreen fairing of his RV-6A, and has a Mattituck O-360 in a crate.
 
Frank Szachta reviewed the history of the Young Eagles program to the group. Chip Miller added about 45 kids took flights at the chapter's last Young Eagle event.
 
Chapter Elections: Elections for the upcoming year were held. Scott Becker has volunteered to bring refreshments to the meetings. The officers for 2007 will be:

No Vice-President or Membership Chairman was elected, and the directors will be chosen after a Vice-President has been elected.
 
A motion was made and passed to have a sign up sheet at the meetings for volunteers to work at the Mid-Atlantic fly-in May 17-19. The sheet would include information on rides, lodging and phone numbers.
 
Brad Smith said the group should think about tools needed for the chapter tool library that the chapter would purchase.
 
Scott Becker recommended an internet video he recently saw. He believed the web site was jetman.com and could be reached through avweb.com.
 
A break was taken for refreshments.
 
The program for the evening was the second half of a DVD on the Garmin 430/530.
 
Chip closed the meeting at 9:37pm.
