Changes to Proposed Bylaws
Having received comments on the proposed Chapter Bylaws, the Executive Committee met on June 29, 2005 to discuss the comments. The Executive Committee suggests the following changes be made to the proposed bylaws. The text of the changes is in bold-faced type.
Article Four: Duration of Membership: The duration of membership for a Regular or Associate Membership shall be one (1) calendar year, from January through December of the same year. The duration of an Honorary Membership is for the life of the Honorary Member.
Article Eleven: In order to assist the Chapter President in the management of the Chapter’s business, several standing positions shall be filled by appointment of the Chapter President, subject to the approval of the Chapter Executive Committee. The positions are: Chapter Newsletter Editor, Chapter Membership Chairman, Chairman of the Chapter Tool Committee, Chapter Website Manager and Chapter Historian.
Chapter Historian: The Chapter Historian shall maintain a library of publications and photographs documenting the Chapter’s affairs and events. He shall establish and maintain a descriptive list of publications and photos and make any of the contents of the library available on loan to any Chapter Member upon request.

Article Four: Lapsed Membership: A Chapter Member shall be held not in good standing under the following two circumstances: The Chapter Member has not paid annual dues or a levied assessment after the date when the payment must have been made. The Chapter Member, having failed to attend at least six consecutive Regular Chapter Meetings of the Chapter Members and having been notified by the Executive Committee, may be held not in good standing by a majority vote of the Executive Committee. A Chapter Member not in good standing shall be dropped from the Chapter Membership Roster, shall not receive the monthly Chapter Newsletter and may not have any of the Chapter tools on loan from the Chapter Tool Library. |
