November Meeting

A picnic meeting is planned for Saturday, November 13 at Airport Manatee.  The meeting will begin at 11:30am in hangar #57.
Those attending are invited to bring along a dish to share and chairs. Hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks will be provided.

Minutes of the October meeting

President Steve Walters opened the meeting at 7:37pm with the 'Pledge to the Flag'.  30 members and guests were present.

Builder Reports: Steve Walters has a Queenair project he has just started.  Rob Morris is building a Fisher Tiger Moth and has the wing ribs completed.  Eugene Naves is tweaking his Fisher FP-101.  Jim Ellis is doing canopy work on his RV-9A. Brad Smith is working on the fuselage of his RV-6A, while Lou Basl's RV-6A is now flying.  Hugh Corley has misplaced some bolts needed to finish his ultra-light project and is trying to find them.  Dave Bothe is putting the landing and strobe lights on the wings of his RV-8A.  Blaise Pierson is having his RV-8 painted in Alabama.

Secretary's Report:  The minutes of the September meeting were accepted as printed in the newsletter.
Treasurer's Report:  Treasurer Dave Bothe reported a balance of $19,948.68.
Young Eagles Report:  Scott Becker said they had a good turnout at the last Young Eagles event.  They flew about 16-17 new aviators.  The next event will be held November 27th.

Old Business:  Nothing more to report on the continuing disagreement with Sun 'n Fun over the 2002 Plane Parts Mart.  Eugene Naves volunteered to become the Newsletter Editor.

A picnic for Saturday, November 13th was announced.  It will be held at Airport Manatee's hangar #57, and will begin about 11:30am.  Those attending are invited to bring along a dish to share and chairs. Hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks will be provided.

A break was taken for refreshments and the 50/50 drawing.

New Business:  Blaise Pierson had an idea for the chapter tool library.  He feels those checking out tools should notify the tool chairman if they keep the tool longer than two weeks to see if someone else is waitng to use that tool.

Our program for the evening was a proposal by Eugene Naves for a chapter aircraft project.  He would like to see the chapter sponsor the construction of an aircraft, with a buy-in by chapter members.  Eugene fielded questions from the group on just who would be eligible to fly the completed project, insurance questions and liablity.  Those interested in such a project should contact Eugene.

Steve Walters closed the meeting at 9:00pm.

Respectfully submitted, Rolf Bostrom, Secretary.
