June Meeting

The next meeting will be held June 23, 2004 at 7:30PM in McElmurry Hall.

Minutes of the May Meeting

President Steve Walters opened the meeting at 7:30PM with the 'Pledge to the Flag.'  28 members and guests were present.

Builders Reports:  Steve Walters is restoring on a Piper Clipper.  Fred Gale is working on the canopy of his Midget Mustang.  Eugene Naves has his Fisher FP101 almost ready to taxi and has done the weight and balance on it.  Brad Smith is building a RV-6A.  Jim Ellis just received the finish kit for his RV-9A.  Dave Bothe has completed most of the tail on his RV-8A.

Secretary's Report:  The minutes of the April meeting were approved.
Treasurer's Report:  There was no change since the last report.
Young Eagles Report:  Scott Becker reported 17 young eagles flew at the last event.  It was also decided by the chapter to buy lunch for the Young Eagle volunteers at future events.

Old Business:  The Chapter 180 Tool Library is expected to move into the new storage room sometime this month.
Dave Bothe was at the Lumberton fly-in held earlier this month.  According to Dave, the fly-in went well with about 60,000 people attending the two day

event.  He felt the parts flea market could have been handled better and has proposed that our Chapter do the Parts Mart next year.

New Business:  Next month's program is scheduled to be on painting aircraft.

A break for refreshments was followed by a 50/50 drawing won by Brad Smith.

Steve Walters demonstrated some flight software to the group.  This software handled all aspects of planning a flight and had the ability to be used in the aircraft on a laptop during a flight.  He has contacted the makers of the program who have offered to discount the software to chapter members if enough are interested in purchasing it.  Steve also showed the chapter's website and the information available there.

The next meeting will be held on June 23rd.

Steve closed the meeting at 8:50PM.

Respectfully submitted,
Rolf Bostrom, Secretary
